UPW Retention List WPL 2026: Full list of players retained by UP Warriorz, Price tags in INR, and Purse remaining

The Women’s Premier League (WPL) franchise UP Warriorz have retained uncapped Shweta Sehrawat ahead of the 2026 mega auction. The franchise announced their sole retention on Thursday, November 6, and will enter the auction with the maximum purse of ₹14.5 crore.

In a significant development, UP Warriorz have released India star Deepti Sharma, who recently won the Player of the Tournament award in the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025, which Women in Blue clinched under the leadership of Harmanpreet Kaur.

Deepti also led the franchise in the 2025 season in the absence of regular skipper Alyssa Healy, who was sidelined due to injury. However, the team endured a disappointing campaign, finishing last with just six points from eight games.

Besides Deepti, the franchise has parted ways with skipper Alyssa Healy, as well as Sophie Ecclestone, Tahlia McGrath, and India World Cup winners Uma Chetry and Kranti Gaud.

Focusing on their sole retention, 21-year-old Shweta Sehrawat has featured in 23 WPL matches, scoring 261 runs in 20 innings at an average of 13.73 with a strike rate of 103.98. She impressed as a leader in the Women’s Delhi Premier League 2025, captaining South Delhi Superstarz to the title. She scored 110 runs in four innings at an average of 55.00 and a strike rate of 157.14, with a top score of 45.

Under the new guidelines, UP Warriorz have retained only Shweta Sehrawat ahead of the 2026 mega auction. With a maximum purse of ₹14.5 crore and four RTMs, and with new head coach Abhishek Nayar at the helm, the team is set to be one to watch at the auction.
