Two former champions move up in weight in an attempt to control another division when the UFC returns to Madison Square Garden on November 25 for UFC 322.

The main event will be Jack Della Maddalena vs. Islam Makhachev for the UFC welterweight title.

Della Maddalena (18-2) dethroned Belal Muhammad to win the welterweight title. The Aussie hasn’t lost a fight since 2016, and attempts to make a moment by successfully defending gold in MSG.

Makhachev (27-1) attempts to become a two-division champion, with a goal to later win a third belt. The Russian has been nearly unstoppable, but “JDM” believes he has the blueprint to take him down.

"I think it's just going out there, fight the perfect fight, and not settle in any positions, I think that is key. And really be aggressive, you know, trust the fitness, go after him,” Della Maddalena told ESPN. Don’t shy away from the fight but go after him; not worry about the takedown but go after him with vicious intentions.”

Meanwhile, Zhang Weili, the former strawweight champion, challenges Valentina Shevchenko for the UFC flyweight title in a dream fight.

The card will also see the likes of Leon Edwards, Beneil Dariush, Bo Nickal, Erin Blanchfield, Angela Hill,  and more.

The Sporting News will provide results, analysis, and highlights from UFC 322.
