Alt-country singer-songwriter Todd Snider has passed away at 59, weeks after getting hospitalized following an assault. His record label shared the news on social media, saying that the singer died the previous day, November 14. The message shared on Saturday, November 15 reads:

"Aimless, Inc. Headquarters is heartbroken to share that our Founder, our Folk Hero, our Poet of the World, our Vice President of the Abrupt Change Dept., the Storyteller, our beloved Todd Daniel Snider has departed this world."

The record label also remembered Snider as "someone who could almost always find the humor in this crazy ride on Planet Earth." The statement didn't share a cause of death. However, Snider was reportedly suffering from an "undiagnosed case of walking pneumonia."

According to Rolling Stone, Todd Snider's family and friends shared a statement last Friday that he was diagnosed with pneumonia while hospitalized in Hendersonville, Tennessee. His health has reportedly grown more complicated and he had to be transferred to another facility. His pneumonia diagnosis came weeks after Snider had to cancel his tour after an assault incident.

He was reportedly arrested in Salt Lake City and charged with disorderly conduct, threat of violence, and trespassing.

Records showed that he didn't have to pay bail money to get out of jail but promised to appear in court. The Salt Lake City Tribune reported about Snider's arrest on November 8, citing a police video capturing the disheveled and disoriented musician being handcuffed. He was reportedly begging to be allowed inside a hospital, claiming that he had been mugged the previous night.

Police body cam from the arrest reportedly showed the singer had to tell the police that he wasn't hopeless, per AL.com., Alabama's news site. He can be heard saying:

"I'm not homeless. I live in Nashville. I have a band. I'm famous."

The arrest reportedly happened after officers responded to a call about a disturbance involving Todd Snider, whom hospital staff described as being "loud" and "obnoxious." He also reportedly threatened to kick a staffer.

Meanwhile, shortly after he was released on November 3, Snider's management team shared on his Instagram that the singer had been assaulted in Salt Lake City outside his hotel before his show in the area. They also shared the cancellation news of his Lonesome and Then Some 2025 Tour dates, adding that Snider will be receiving medical treatment.

He was expected to make a full recovery, per The Tennessean, but his condition has become more complicated, as mentioned by his family and friends' statement on November 14.
