Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz will be taking on each other in the summit clash of the ATP Finals. As the duo prepare for the upcoming battle, the Italian recently called out his parents for potentially missing the opportunity to watch him hunt for his second consecutive title at the event.

Sinner has enjoyed an incredible run on home ground in Turin so far. The 24-year-old kicked off his campaign with a commanding win over Canada's Felix Auger-Aliassime. He then went on to dispose of Alexander Zverev and Ben Shelton with ease to go undefeated in his group stage matches. For his semifinals battle, the World No.2 outdid Alex de Minaur in straight games.

After his win over de Minaur, Jannik Sinner revealed that while his brother, Mark, will be in the audience during his finals against Carlos Alcaraz, his parents are undecided on whether they will be able to make it, telling journalist Giovanni Pelazzo,

"My brother Mark is here, while I don't think Mom and Dad will come. They have some things to do at home... apparently that's more important!”

Last year, at the 2024 ATP Finals, Jannik Sinner's entire family, including his mother Siglinde, father Hanspeter, and brother Marc, had been in attendance as the Italian outdid Taylor Fritz to lift his maiden trophy at the event.

Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz have faced each other in five finals this year, twice on hard courts, twice on clay courts, and once on the grass courts at Wimbledon. The duo's upcoming clash in Turin marks their first time competing against each other indoors since 2021.

Reflecting on facing Alcaraz on a surface where he has won his last 28 matches, Sinner told media,

“Well, you know, honestly, every matchup is different. You know, it's we saw it in Rome and Paris, you know, even if it's the same surface, but you know, it can change. So I'm of course happy. First of all, to finish my season here in (Turin) with another final has been an amazing year for me and I'm looking forward to tomorrow. You know, these are the matches I look forward to. And also to see for me where my level really is but at the same time it's great before the offseason, you know, you have this matchup.”

Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz will return to action for their ATP Finals summit clash on Sunday, November 16. Regardless of the result of this match, Alcaraz has already solidified his position as the year-end World No.1
