In South Korea, tvN broadcasts the drama each weekend at 10:40 pm KST. The story is set in 1997, amid a nationwide financial meltdown. Typhoon Trading Company is a small, family-run business, which faced the downturn.

Kang Tae-poong, who once lived off his father’s prosperity, faces the company’s collapse after his father dies. He takes the CEO role to avert bankruptcy. Once immature, he now shows responsibility, compassion and a willingness to take risks. Oh Mi-seon, the eldest daughter and household provider, handles bookkeeping and menial tasks. Tae-poong’s stewardship gives her renewed hope; she aims to build a steady career through diligence and honesty.

What’s ahead in episodes 11 & 12 of Typhoon Family?

In the upcoming episodes of Typhoon Family, Tae-poong will undertake a government project. The contract is strategic, and winning it becomes a survival play. He faces a high-stakes meeting with industry peers and rival bidders. Mi-seon proposes they recruit the former vice-CEO, Myung-kwan, to boost credibility.

The pair locates Myung-kwan and presents a composed proposal. He initially rebuffs them. They return the next day to his house, but he’s absent. They continue to press him, but he doesn’t get persuaded.

In another development, Pyo Bak-ho’s bid to collect the promissory note intensifies. The missing IOU page and the August 17 discrepancy push Tae-poong into a fact-finding arc. Moreover, Mi-seon and Tae-poong’s chemistry intensifies. Their bond starts to merge professional urgency with feelings.

Typhoon Family’s episode 9 starts with Ma-jin being detained in Thailand on bribery charges, now listed at $10,000. Customs confiscates Typhoon Trading’s helmets, and officials will destroy them in 48 hours.

Ma-jin, held in a Thai lockup, is then booked for trial. In custody, Ma-jin speaks with a Korean-speaking inmate, Somchai. Somchai is later seen wearing Ma-jin’s jacket and then claims not to understand Korean when Tae-poong confronts him. Tae-poong and Mi-seon visit Ma-jin in jail. He gives them a family photograph. On its back is a short note to Mi-seon (basic sales tips), and she takes it as proof he trusts her.

Tae-poong proves in court that the helmets could not have been worth $10,000. Mi-seon arrives with photographic evidence. But the prints are ruined, and only the exposed film survives. Tae-poong uses a torch to project the recovered film frames onto a wall during the trial.

News of the incident damages Typhoon Trading’s pitch to Nihakham Group. Tae-poong meets the chairman to apologise. Mi-seon proposes they take control of the helmet inventory and offer a six-month recall guarantee if stock doesn’t move. The chairman refuses, saying he says his trust is broken. Nicha later tells Tae-poong to call her if he can offer something more valuable. Mi-seon urges Tae-poong to flatter Nicha, call her “pretty,” to sway her, but he bristles at the suggestion.

On the hustles and heartbreaks beat: Nam-mo’s pub falters. Hyun-jun receives a package from his aunt in the U.S., inspects the items, and rejects them as unsellable. He asks Manager Ha why Hyun-jun’s father holds a grudge against Typhoon Trading, but the manager feigns ignorance.

During a sit-down, Tae-poong praises her and leans in to kiss her. However, she stops him and redirects focus to Ma-jin. Investigative moves continue. Mi-seon remembers she photographed the street incident. A studio says prints need three days. She offers 3,000 baht and Tae-poong’s watch to speed development. With the proofs nearly ready, a passerby collides with Mi-seon. However, the developed photos tumble into the water.

The film survives, and that film becomes the key exhibit in Ma-jin’s trial, The Typhoon Family. Episode 10 of Typhoon Family starts with the company losing most of its impounded helmets after a failed retrieval at the port. Customs held the gear because of the ongoing bribery case. The team could not enter the customs compound.

They commandeered a scooter and hired a tuk-tuk to reach the docks. The scooter stalled. Ma-jin, who chose to take Mi-seon instead of Tae-poong, sent her to sprint the final stretch. She arrived as agents were unloading crates. Guards ignored her attempts to seize the boxes. Tae-poong and Ma-jin arrive, but most helmets had been discarded and damaged by then.

Mi-seon breaks down. She had tried to save the stock and the sale. Ma-jin acknowledged he had misjudged her. He admitted fault, despite his seniority, and promised to change his view of women.

Later, Tae-poong declared his feelings to Mi-seon and they kisses. Mi-seon notes he never formally asked her out. Rumors circulated that Ma-jin may have sold 140 helmets elsewhere. Back in town, Tae-poong dives into work. Mi-seon spent time with family and felt genuinely happy. Facing cash strain, Tae-poong rented half of Nam-mo’s pub as a temporary office.

Nam-mo cooked a meal at the Oh household, presenting it as time spent with Tae-poong. Grandma noticed the closeness between Mi-ho and Nam-mo. The episode ends with Pyo Bak-ho surfacing to collect a promissory note tied to Tae-poong’s father. He confronted Cha Seon-taek about a missing page from the IOU book. Tae-poong begins to uncover the same discrepancy. The events of August 17 remain unresolved in Typhoon Family.

All 10 released episodes of Typhoon Family are now available on Netflix, with 6 episodes remaining in its 16-episode run.
