Cincinnati Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase has been suspended for one game after spitting on veteran CB Jalen Ramsey during their 34-12 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. Now, a day after the incident, the four-time Pro Bowler has declined to further comment on the situation.
According to a tweet by NFL insider Dov Kleiman, Ja'Marr Chase decided not to interact with the press on Monday. This comes after he denied spitting on Jalen Ramsey during the game.
"BREAKING: Bengals superstar WR Ja'Marr Chase declined to talk to reporters today," Kleiman tweeted.•

The incident took place in the fourth quarter of the game. Both players got into a feud after Ja'Marr Chase grabbed onto Jalen Ramsey's facemask and dragged him. The referees awarded personal penalties for unsportsmanlike conduct.
Both Chase and Ramsey got into another altercation after the Bengals called for a timeout after a fourth-down play. It was during this argument that Ramsey claimed the Bengals WR spat on him. This led to the veteran CB throwing a punch at his facemask, which led to his ejection from the game.
In the post-game press conference, Chase defended himself while refusing to accept the allegations made by the Steelers CB.
"I ain't ever open my mouth today," Chase said. "You know, like some of the swears I told. We've been going back and forth the whole time. So I'm sure I got under his skin. First time we had an altercation, and there was a second time."Bengals coach Zac Taylor calls out Ja'Marr Chase for spitting on Jalen Ramsey
After Chase was awarded a one-game suspension, coach Zac Taylor came forward to criticize his player's actions on the field. He said that the Bengals WR "crossed a line" on Sunday.
"Obviously what happened is crossing the line, and we can't have that," Taylor said per ESPN. "I know he'll own up to that."Apart from the suspension, Chase has also been fined one day's pay, which amounts to $448,333, along with a $58,823 per-game active bonus.
The wide receiver has decided to appeal his suspension. However, if the appeal fails, then he is expected to miss their showdown against the Patriots on Sunday.
