Philadelphia began the 2025-2026 season on a high note, but was unable to sustain toward the end of the calendar year. In the final week of December, Tyrese Maxey and co. went just 1-3, dropping to sixth in the Eastern Conference with a 17-14 overall record.

Dallas, on the other hand, had an even tougher stretch in the month. Despite Anthony Davis returning to the lineup, Jason Kidd’s team finished December at 6-7, including a three-game losing streak.

However, Cooper Flagg’s performance was one of the most encouraging takeaways. The rookie impressed with averages of 23.5 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game in the month.

The two teams first met on Dec. 20 at Xfinity Mobile Arena, where Philadelphia prevailed, backed by Maxey’s 38-point performance. Despite Dallas’ 121-114 loss, the Davis-Flagg stood out, combining for 48 points.
