Team India will take on Australia in a five-match T20I series Down Under, which will be played from October 29 to November 8. Earlier, the Men in Blue lost the three-match ODI series by a 2-1 margin. The visitors will be keen to put up a much-better effort in the T20I series.

The T20Is will begin with the first match at the Manuka Oval in Canberra on October 29. The subsequent T20Is will be played in Melbourne (October 31), Hobart (November 2), Gold Coast (November 6) and Brisbane (November 8).

Team India have so far played 18 T20Is in Australia, winning 11 and losing six. One match ended in no result. Ahead of the five-match series Down Under, we take a look at five Indian batters who have scored the most number of runs in T20Is in Australia.


#5 KL Rahul

KL Rahul is at No. 5 on the list of Indian batters with most runs in T20Is in Australia. In 12 matches (11 innings), he has scored 236 runs at an average of 21.45 and a strike rate of 116.83, with the aid of three half-centuries. The right-handed batter has registered two scores of 51 in T20Is Down Under.

Rahul scored 51 off 35 balls against Zimbabwe in Melbourne in the 2022 T20 World Cup. The knock featured three fours and three sixes. The 33-year-old also struck 51 off 40 against Australia in Canberra (December 2020) and 50 off 32 against Bangladesh in Adelaide. This knock also came in the 2022 T20 World Cup.


#4 Suryakumar Yadav

Swashbuckling batter Suryakumar Yadav will captain Team India in the upcoming T20I series in Australia. He is currently fourth on the list of Men in Blue batters with most runs in T20Is in Australia. In six matches, he has scored 239 runs at an average of 59.75 and a strike rate of 189.68, with the aid of three fifties.

Suryakumar's best score in T20Is in Australia is 68, which came off 40 balls against South Africa in Perth in the 2022 T20 World Cup. The knock featured six fours and three sixes. The 35-year-old also smacked 51* off 25 against Netherlands in Sydney and 61* off 25 against Zimbabwe in Melbourne. Both these knocks also came in the 2022 T20 World Cup.

Former India opener Shikhar Dhawan is in third position among batters from the country with most runs in T20Is in Australia. In nine matches (eight innings), he scored 271 runs at an average of 33.87 and a strike rate of 153.97, with the aid of two half-centuries.

Dhawan's best of 76 came off just 42 balls against Australia in Brisbane in November 2018. The fighting knock featured 10 fours and two sixes, but went in vain as India fell just short in a chase of 174 from 17 overs. The southpaw also scored 52 off 36 balls against the Aussies in Sydney in December 2020 in a match that the Men in Blue won by six wickets.

Former captain Rohit Sharma is in second place among Indian batters with most runs in T20Is in Australia. In 15 matches (13 innings), he scored 297 runs at an average of 22.84 and a strike rate of 120.24, with three fifties.

Batting superstar Virat Kohli leads the list of Indian players with most T20I runs in Australia by some distance. In 17 matches (16 innings), he has amassed 747 runs at an average of 74.70 and a strike rate of 141.20, with nine half-centuries.

Kohli's best of 90* came off 55 balls against Australia in Adelaide in January 2016. The knock featured nine fours and two sixes. He also clobbered 85 off 61 against Australia in Sydney in December 2020 and an iconic 82* off 53 against Pakistan in Melbourne in the 2022 T20 World Cup.
