WNBA star Natasha Cloud went on a long rant on her latest social media post. On Monday, she posted a minute-long video on her X, passionately denouncing the halting of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
According to CBS News, on Monday, the USDA announced that it will halt SNAP on Nov. 1. The update came amid the government shutdown, which began on Oct. 1.
In a video that the New York Liberty star posted on her X, she questioned worshipping people for their "hypocrisy," surrounding issues about "SNAP," "healthcare," deportation, and "genocides."
"Happy Sunday, everybody. I'm about to go on my rant because my biggest pet peeve is hypocrisy, but especially on Sundays," Cloud started. "If y'all went to church today and upon leaving that fu***** church, you still oppose SNAP benefits to our most marginalized communities, you are a fu***** hypocrite. If you left... church today and don't want universal health care for our most marginalized communities, you are a fu***** hypocrite. If you left church today and you are still calling for the deportation of human beings on stolen land, you are a fu***** hypocrite," she added. "If you are still complicit in genocides around the world, you are a fu***** hypocrite. Because that is not the teachings of God. That is not the teachings of Jesus. Jesus was the most radical being, Period. That serve and even clean the feet of the most marginalized. What is wrong with y'all? The f***! Stop going to church."WNBA star Natasha Cloud refuses to accept her "morality" stance as political
Natasha Cloud has never been a silent one when it came to questions surrounding what she considers a basic human right. Earlier this year, after Zohran Mamdani won the Democratic mayoral primary, the Liberty star was hyped up.
Ahead of the Liberty's game against the Golden State Valkyries in June, Cloud spoke to Clutch Points about Mamdani's win. Expressing her happiness with Mamdani's win, the WNBA star said that she believed in the administration's "right to take care" of people and ensuring they lived a "dignified life."
However, she received backlash on the internet for her views. When Clutch Point asked her about her political stance, the WNBA star refused to tag her statement to politics.
"Human morality is not up for debate," Cloud said. "It's not necessarily political. I don't think that human rights and human decency and morality are political," the WNBA star added. “I think that's very… what they've wanted it to be. What they've created the narratives to be. To instill fear into us. It's okay to care about other people. It's okay to care about your neighbors."Natasha Cloud is one of the most vocal stars in the league. She had publicly taken a stance on issues related to human rights and the pay gap in the WNBA.
