Tigers predicted to make big splash in free agency with signing of Blue Jays' Bo Bichette

As the Detroit Tigers decide how they want to approach this offseason, they should consider upgrading the infield.

The Toronto Blue Jays' Bo Bichette is undoubtedly the top shortstop on the free agent market. In fact, the shortstop market thins out tremendously after Bichette, as the next top option is Ha-Seong Kim, and then Isiah Kiner-Falefa after that. However, Bichette is starting to be rumored to be moved to second base after his signing.

Tigers predicted to sign Bo Bichette, and switch his position

The Detroit Tigers have another decision to make this offseason, and that is whether they will re-sign second baseman Gleyber Torres. If they don't, that opens the door for Detroit to sign Bichette and move him to second base, according to Bleacher Report's Joel Reuter.

"A reunion with the Blue Jays is still a real possibility, especially after their World Series trip, but the Tigers could be one of his top suitors if the winds start blowing him elsewhere."

Detroit may also try to make a run at signing Alex Bregman again to help bolster that infield depth, but that seems unlikely as this moment, and Bichette's sweepstakes may be wide open.

The 27-year-old shortstop battled a knee sprain in September and into October, but still had a quality offensive season. He hit .311 with 18 home runs, 181 hits, and an OPS+ of 129.

It would be a huge addition for Detroit and would continue to strengthen the team's case as one of the top contenders in the American League.
