The Chicago Bears will be without D’Andre Swift when they battle it out against the Cincinnati Bengals at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati on Sunday. The sixth-year running back has been ruled out of the Week 9 encounter by the Bears with an aggravated groin injury.
Swift suffered a groin injury in the Week 6 narrow 25-24 win over the Washington Commanders. However, he was said to have played through the injury in the Bears’ subsequent two games against the New Orleans Saints in Week 7 and the Baltimore Ravens last week.
Before he was officially ruled out of the encounter, D’Andre Swift was absent in practice from Wednesday through to Friday, raising an early possibility of missing the Bengals game. It's the first time the Bears have been listed as “DNP” for three consecutive days this season.

Swift has been an important part of the Bears’ offense under the leadership of Ben Johnson this season. He's recorded 464 rushing yards and four touchdowns in 100 carries across seven games. He's also hauled in 18 receptions for 192 yards and a touchdown.
D’Andre Swift's absence against the Bengals has raised a lot of concerns among the Bears’ fans ahead of Sunday. With Roschon Johnson also set to miss the game, the Bears are playing in Cincinnati with a depleted running back room, which could have an effect on the game result.
Here's a look at some of the reactions online:
Oh no no no this is absolutely not good
@NFL Can the Bears survive without him, or is the season already doomed?
@NFL Damn, we’re going to lose anyway

@NFL Ouch. That’s a swift setback.
Kyle Monangai to lead rushing duty with D’Andre Swift’s absence
Kyle Monangai is set to take on the lead rusher role for the Bears when they visit the Bengals on Sunday. The rookie made it known that he found out about his starting opportunity in place of D’Andre Swift on Friday, and he's ready to take advantage of the chance.
“My mission in a way is to tire the defense out, to try to get them to not want to tackle me anymore, the way I'm attacking them downhill," Monangai said. "It allows me to feel the game better. Eventually, once I get a feel for what they're doing that day and who I can attack more and what I can do, I feel like I get better as it gets going. That's all as far as the rhythm."Monangai has recorded 186 rushing yards and a touchdown in 42 carries this season. The seventh-round pick has been quite explosive in the last couple of weeks, and the Bengals, with their poor defense, present him a chance to shine in the game.
