The Cleveland Browns' head coaching search hasn't exactly been all smooth sailing. They've seen three solid options back out, with Jesse Minter, Mike McDaniel, and Grant Udinski all taking their name out of the running this offseason.
But the Browns still have some options, and decent ones at that. Andrew Berry and Jimmy Haslam are working to bring in a new head coach, and four options have emerged as candidates.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, following Udinski's withdrawal from consideration, there are now just four candidates for the Browns job. Those four names feature the offensive-minded coaches, and one defensive coach who's familiar to Browns fans.
Browns' four HC candidates revealed by insider
"Remaining Cleveland candidates: defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz, Rams passing game coordinator Nate Scheelhaase, Commanders run game coordinator Anthony Lynn, and former Ravens OC Todd Monken," Schefter outlined.
These four options are all interesting ones for the Browns. Jim Schwartz is the lone in-house candidate, and while he's a great defensive mind, making him the new head coach might be a little underwhelming after some of the names floated this offseason.
Anthony Lynn, the Washington Commanders' run game coordinator, is an interesting option. He's had head coaching experience before with the Los Angeles Chargers and has been a part of solid offenses in his career. But, he might not be the top option.
Todd Monken is strongly linked to the New York Giants' offensive coordinator job to reunite with John Harbaugh after their time together with the Baltimore Ravens.

He could come to the Browns as their head coach, but with a chance to reunite with Harbaugh on the line, he might wind up choosing an OC job over an HC job.
Lastly, Nate Scheelhaase of the Los Angeles Rams might be the most high-upside option of the bunch. The Rams' offense has been one of the best over the last few years, and bringing in someone who is tied to such a great unit is appealing.
He's incredibly young as well, and if he's a hit in Cleveland, the Browns might have their own version of Sean McVay. While it might not be likely, it's a chance that's worth taking.
These four candidates are the top options for the Browns this offseason. Scheelhaase, Monken, Schwartz, and Lynn are the four candidates for the Browns' job, with one of these coaches likely becoming the new head coach of the Browns in 2026 and hopefully beyond.
