With the regular season winding down across much of the country, last week wasn't the loudest one in girls hoops. But there were still multiple major developments among the nation's top teams.
For instance, DME Academy finally lost a game, and a new face in Wisconsin unseated Arrowhead in the top 25.
Here are The Sporting News national high school girls basketball rankings for the week of Feb. 2.

Top 25 High School Girls Basketball Rankings
1. Bishop McNamara (MD) (18-2 – 1st last week)
The Mustangs' ability to win games that come down to the wire with the burden of knowing that a national championship is on the line continues to amaze. Last week they beat St. John's 59-53 and Paul VI (VA) 44-42.
2. Ontario Christian (CA) (26-1 – 2nd)
The presumable No. 1 seed in the CIF-Southern Section Open Division playoffs, Ontario Christian closes the regular season on Tuesday at Rancho Christian.
3. Princess Anne (VA) (19-0 – 4th)
Three wins away from its second consecutive undefeated regular season, Princess Anne now has its highest national ranking in program history at No. 3.
4. Long Island Lutheran (NY) (16-3 – 5th)
On Saturday, Long Island Lutheran faces Bullis for the second time this season. LuHi won the first meeting 70-49 in the Nike TOC semifinals.
In other news, LuHi led the girls hoops world with three selections to the 2026 McDonald's All-American Game.
5. Archbishop Mitty (CA) (18-2 – 6th)
With four WCAL games left before the playoffs, the Monarchs are still yet to give up 30 points in a game in league play.
6. Sierra Canyon (CA) (21-2 – 7th)
Four years in the Mission League, four sweeps. That is, assuming the Trailblazers don't collapse on Tuesday against Harvard-Westlake, which they beat 75-25 on the road two weeks ago.
7. Incarnate Word Academy (MO) (13-2 – 8th)
January was quite a month for the Red Knights, who we didn't have ranked at the end of December. They went 6-0 including the monumental win over Long Island Lutheran.
8. Johnston (IA) (16-0 – 9th)
Time for the make-or-break week in the Dragons' pursuit of a third straight undefeated regular season. They face Dowling Catholic and West Des Moines Valley and should be able to cruise from there if they win both games.
9. Etiwanda (CA) (26-2 – 10th)
After a long string of blowout wins, Etiwanda got a test in a non-league tuneup game before the Southern Section Open Division playoffs and passed. It defeated red-hot Mission Hills 62-51 and finishes the regular season on Tuesday against Los Osos.
10. Westtown (PA) (17-1 – 11th)
Westtown's long-awaited battle with DME Academy at the Metro Classic appears to have been canceled. The Moose still did notch a nice win last week, however, routing Friends' Central 77-50.
11. SPIRE Academy National (OH) (14-0 – 13th)
SPIRE held off Canadian challengers Orangeville Prep and CODE Academy to finish the regular season unbeaten. CODE Academy pushed SPIRE to a 56-50 finish.
12. The St. James Performance Academy (VA) (14-3 – 14th)
The Strivers have officially found their stride. Now on a 13-game tear after a 4-3 start, they handed DME Academy its first loss last week and also held off formidable unranked team Cresset Christian Academy.
13. DME Academy (FL) (18-1 – 3rd)
DME dropped a whopping 10 spots with one single-digit loss to a great team, losing 52-44 against St. James, but don't write them off from rejoining the top tier or two of contenders. That's one loss against a slew of impressive wins, and DME still has plenty of strong foes left on its schedule.
14. Legion Prep (TX) (11-2 – 12th)
Despite being on a bye week, LPA dropped a couple spots with DME Academy, one of the only two teams it has lost to, falling to The St. James Performance Academy.
15. St. John Vianney (NJ) (17-2 – 15th)
Still rolling. Vianney blew out Rumson-Fair Haven and Manasquan last week before defeating formidable Morris Catholic 53-40 on Saturday.
16. Red Bank Catholic (NJ) (18-2 – 19th)
Sunday brought a statement win for the Caseys: 64-54 over previously unbeaten bubble team Paul VI (NJ).
17. Westlake (TX) (32-0 – 16th)
Just over a week away from cementing the undefeated regular season. Westlake's last competitive game was its 52-49 win over Brennan on Dec. 12.
18. Tualatin (OR) (16-1 – 17th)
Time for Tualatin's first test since the Nike POA Holiday Classic. Tuesday brings its first of two conference meetings with West Linn, another Oregon contender with only one loss. That loss came by two possessions to Sage Hill on Dec. 29, so don't be surprised if Tualatin gets a run for its money.
19. Wagner (TX) (30-0 – 18th)
The Thunderbirds join fellow Texas UIL state title contender Westlake as the only 30-win teams in the national rankings. And, like Westlake, Wagner only needs three more wins against teams it's already blown out to complete the undefeated regular season.
20. St. John's (DC) (17-4 – 20th)
St. John's pushed top-ranked Bishop McNamara to its limits on Saturday before falling 59-53. The Cadets don't have to wait long for a chance at revenge, but they'll be on the road when they play again this Sunday.
21. Bullis (MD) (13-5 – 21st)
Presumably due to the snow storms, Bullis has had a handful of cancellations and postponements in the last several days. On Saturday, it got back in action for an 82-44 rout of Georgetown Visitation Prep. The Bulldogs' battle with Sidwell Friends, which was supposed to last Wednesday, has been rescheduled for Feb. 17. This week they have their other scheduled game against Sidwell Friends plus a crack at revenge against Long Island Lutheran on ESPN.
22. Belleville (MI) (13-0 – 23rd)
As expected, the Tigers are going scorched earth against Kensington Lakes - East competition. They won their last three games by a combined score of 265-41.
23. Hoover (AL) (26-1 – 24th)
It appears the Buccaneers will finish the regular season on a 29-game winning streak after dropping their season opener. But they do have to get through perennial Georgia powerhouse Holy Innocents' Episcopal on Friday to seal the deal.
24. Sage Hill (CA) (23-4 – Bubble)
Arguably one of the top five hottest teams in high school girls basketball, Sage Hill hasn't lost since the first week of December and has since beaten the likes of St. Mary's (Stockton), West Linn, and Bishop Gorman. 4-star Texas signee and senior point guard Amalia Holguin dropped 64 points last week on senior night.
25. Wauwatosa East (WI) (18-0 – Bubble)
It was an upset but not a total shocker on Tuesday as the Red Raiders took down Arrowhead in overtime. Wauwatosa East came in lossless like Arrowhead and had proven untouchable all year against all but a couple of the best teams in the midwest. Its other top win was against Providence Academy.
