The New York Yankees certainly do have almost the same roster as last season.
But that, potentially, won't be as big a deal as Yankees fans are making it out to be.
ESPN's Bradford Doolittle broke the issue down in a new article on Friday, and he's got a key point: Just because the hot stove is mostly over doesn't mean the Yankees are done.
"In the end, disgruntled Yankees fans should remember that rosters are not just juggled during the wintertime," Doolittle writes. "You can't stop plate tectonics, and you can't stop Yankees roster evolution, even if it doesn't conform to the hot stove calendar."

Much of the potential roster shuffling in the future could come due to the way this roster is actually constructed to begin with.
Namely, those two frequent names that have come up this offseason, young outfielders Jasson Dominguez and Spencer Jones.
Right now, neither has a spot to play. And if that doesn't change, a trade could be exactly what both they and the Yankees need.
"One way running it back can work is if your in-house talents force their way upward and raise your collective ceiling," Doolittle writes. "But they need some kind of an opening to do so."

If there's no opening, then the Yanks can find a spot that does have an opening and repurpose resources.
It'll be fun to follow, for sure. Guys like Gerrit Cole still have to get healthy. Maybe other players on the roster get hurt and make it look different by default.
Or maybe the Yankees still have some moves up their sleeves, still to come to shake things up and make a run at the division title and more.
