The Denver Broncos, coming off a frustrating end to their 2025 season in the playoffs due to a freak injury to Bo Nix, are looking to bounce back in a major way next year.
Returning to the playoffs with this team might not be too difficult, but making it to the Championship game again will be. To get back, the Broncos need to make some moves this offseason, especially on offense, to give Nix another playmaker.
Jordan Dajani of CBS Sports predicts the Broncos will do just that, as Dajani predicts Denver will trade a Day-2 draft choice to the Dallas Cowboys for wide receiver George Pickens, while extending the WR to a $31 million per-year deal as well.
Broncos predicted to trade and extend George Pickens
"Pickens requests a trade as the public spectacle intensifies," Dajani writes. "That's when the Broncos swoop in and give the Cowboys a second-round pick for the wideout, then sign Pickens to a multi-year extension that pays him an average of $31 million per year."
This blockbuster trade prediction and subsequent contract extension would be a dream scenario for the Broncos. They need more help on offense, and no wide receiver who's realistically available would be better than Pickens.
Trading for Pickens would give the Broncos a very good wide receiver room. Pickens, Courtland Sutton, Pat Bryant, Troy Franklin, and Marvin Mims would be not just a deep group, but a good enough group to return to the AFC Championship game.

While the Broncos might need tight end and running back more than wide receiver, adding someone like Pickens at the cost of a second-round pick, which is in the 60's, and extending him on a $31 million contract would be a no-brainer for the Broncos.
Being able to give Nix competent weapons for the 2026 season is a must for Denver. Pickens would fit the bill and be the playmaker the Broncos' offense is desperately lacking.
Sutton, Bryant, Franklin, and Mims are a solid WR room, but they lack the upside and overall game-changing ability that Pickens would bring.
Dajani's prediction coming true would be an incredible turn of events for the Broncos, and would be well worth the second-rounder and the $31 million contract.
