In The Forge, the Demonite Key is a reward for submitting three Demonite ores to Skal. This NPC can be found in a secret area of the Volcanic Depths sub-location in the Ruined Cave.

Here's a step-by-step guide on getting the Demonite Key.

Enter the Volcanic Depths

Follow these steps to enter the Volcanic Depths in the Ruined Cave:

• Enter the cave in Forgotten Kingdom.
• Take the right path and then take the first right to reach the Amber NPC.
• Notice the couple of Basalt Veins blocking the entry to the depths.
• Break the Basalt Veins with a pickaxe that has 78 mining power or above.

The Volcanic Depths features powerful enemies, including the Elite Deathaxe Skeleton, Reaper, and Magma Slime. Either run past or slay them with a powerful weapon like a Katana or Greatsword.

After entering the depths, head right till you find a passage marked by red symbols on the ground. Follow these symbols to reach the Skal NPC.

Interact with Skal and then choose the "Just passing through" and "Alright, I'll do it" dialogues to accept his quest. He'll task you with collecting three Demonites, which are Mythical ores only available from Volcanic Rocks.

Volcanic Rocks can be found in the Volcanic Depths. Miners have a 1 in 3666 chance of obtaining Demonite from such rocks, which makes the ore one of the rarest in the game.

To break a Volcanic Rock, you must have a pickaxe with 100 or above mining damage. The Magma, Arcane, and Lightite pickaxes are currently capable of mining such rocks.

Once you get three Demonites, keep them in your inventory instead of using or selling them. Head back to Skal to submit the ores and complete his quest.
