The 2025 AVP League season is officially back, and they're returning even stronger than year 1.
Ahead of its second season, the AVP (Association of Volleyball Professionals) is experiencing a period of significant growth, marked by a number of positives, which includes new and exciting venues. Aside from returning to some of the spots they played at last year such as Delray Beach Tennis Center in Palm Beach, FL and Comerica Center in Dallas, TX, the league will be making new stops at Wayfair Arena in Miami FL, EHP Resort and Marina in East Hampton, NY, Intuit Dome in Los Angeles and Central Park (Wollman Rink) in New York City, NY.
Additionally, the AVP also has a strong new TV deal that will air two hours of play each Friday on CBS Sports Network, and two hours of play each Saturday on the CW. For the Championships in Chicago (Saturday, August 30 and Sunday, August 31), Saturday’s semifinals will air on The CW, and Sunday’s final will air on CBS (as opposed to CBS Sports Network).

What's more, the AVP League has adjusted its scheduling to feature matches on Friday and Saturday nights. (In 2024, matches were Saturday nights and Sunday afternoons). They have also shifted to a summer schedule, which aligns more naturally with the beach lifestyle while also avoiding competition from pro and college football. As if that isn't exciting enough, a number of Olympians will be on the squad this year, including:
- Melissa Humana-Paredes and Brandie Wilkerson (2024 Olympic silver medalists, 2021 Olympians)
- Phil Dalhausser (2008 Olympic gold medalist, four-time Olympian)
- Kelly Cheng (2021 and 2024 Olympian)
- Taryn Brasher and Kristen Nuss (2024 Olympians)
- Andy Benesh and Miles Partain (2024 Olympians)
- Chase Budinger and Miles Evans (2024 Olympians)
Robert Corvino, AVP commissioner told SN via email: "As we enter the second year of the AVP League, we’re proud of the momentum we’ve built and energized by what’s ahead in 2025. The AVP League showcases the world’s premier beach volleyball athletes delivering an exciting, fast-paced sport that’s compelling on television and even more electrifying in person. A major step forward this season is our consistent national TV schedule through our new partnership with CBS and "The CW, giving fans the ability to tune in every Friday and Saturday night."
That reliability helps build stronger connections with our audience and brings even greater visibility to the sport. We’re also excited to take the AVP League to iconic venues across the country—from Central Park in New York to the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles and Chicago’s Oak Street Beach. It’s shaping up to be an incredible season."
Brandie Wilkerson, 2024 Olympic silver medalist and two-time Olympian, added: "The whole concept of the AVP League is fresh and exciting for the players, and I think the fans really responded well to it last year. Melissa and I love being part of a team alongside our men’s players, and wearing the Palm Beach Passion uniform has been a really cool experience, to represent a city and help grow a fan base."
"The matches are a lot faster than traditional beach volleyball, so you really have to come out on the attack and try to get ahead of your opponents quickly. Every match matters. We didn’t make it to the postseason last year, so we’re going to be doing everything we can to make it to Chicago this year to play for the AVP League championship."
The AVP League format features a number of factors that make it new and exciting in the sport of beach volleyball, including: Players representing cities, Teams featuring two men and two women and more.
The season kicks off this weekend.
