ONE featherweight Muay Thai world champion Tawanchai PK Saenchai cannot wait to get his hands on 'Spirit Dragon' Liu Mengyang, after reading all the stuff that the latter has said about him leading up to their headliner showdown.

The two strikers cross paths in a featherweight kickboxing tiff that headlines ONE Friday Fights 137 inside the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, this Friday, December 19.

It will be the first time they meet on the global stage of the organization, but not the first occasion that they've been scheduled to meet.

The pair were initially locked in for a scrap at ONE Friday Fights 126 this past September. Unfortunately, Tawanchai suffered an injury during camp that forced him to withdraw.

The Chinese standout went on to outpoint late-notice replacement Shadow Singha Mawynn, and he's shared his thoughts on social media that his upcoming foe may have backed out of the fight because he feared battling alongside him.

Those comments haven't sat well on the Thai megastar, who vows to enjoy the last laugh when they go toe-to-toe inside the Mecca of Muay Thai this week.

"Yes, I have trained very hard. It's getting boring [training every day], and I'm ready to fight already. I'm very happy to finally face him because he has been saying a lot of things, indicating that I was afraid of him. So I'm just waiting to show that in the ring," the 26-year-old striking genius told the South China Morning Post (SCMP) in a pre-fight interview.

ONE Friday Fights 137: Tawanchai vs. Liu will broadcast live in Asia primetime on December 19 on ONE Championship's official YouTube channel, the ONE Super App, and watch.onefc.com. Geo-restrictions may apply.

Tawanchai fixated on claiming kickboxing crown

Tawanchai, of course, enters this tiff after a painful defeat to Masaaki Noiri in their ONE interim featherweight kickboxing world title matchup at ONE 172 inside the Saitama Super Arena this past March.

However, that defeat has done little to dampen his spirits at becoming the organization's latest two-sport world champion. The PK Saenchai striking specialist's top goal remains Superbon's ONE featherweight kickboxing world title.

"Currently, I haven't set any goals in Muay Thai. I just want to become the kickboxing world champion. If I win this fight, we'll have to see what happens next," he told members of the media during a press conference in Bangkok, Thailand.
