“Suryakumar Yadav used to message me a lot” - Bollywood actress’ massive claim on Indian captain ahead of T20 World Cup 2026

Bollywood actress Khushi Mukherjee made a massive claim on Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav ahead of the 2026 T20 World Cup. Suryakumar was named in the squad and will continue to lead the side at the marquee event.

Khushi claimed that Suryakumar Yadav used to chat with her in the past, but they do not talk at present. She also added that she does not want to be linked up with anyone or date a cricketer.

"I don't want to date any cricketer. There are so many cricketers after me. Suryakumar Yadav used to message me a lot. Now we don't talk a lot and I don't even want to get associated. I don't like any linkups with me," she said. (via Kiddan.com)

Suryakumar Yadav did not have a great 2025 with the bat. In the recent series against South Africa at home, he had scores of 12, 5, 12, 5. The star batter struggled to get going and could not put up any significant performances.

While he had an excellent IPL 2025 season, where he scored 717 runs from 16 matches at an average of 65.18 and a strike rate of 167.91, with five half-centuries. However, he failed to translate the form in international cricket.

In 19 T20I innings in 2025, he managed to score just 218 runs at an average of 13.62 at a strike rate of 123.16 without a single fifty. His poor form has been a concern for Team India.

While he has done well as captain, it will be important for him to regain his form and rhythm ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026. The New Zealand series will be crucial for the 35-year-old.

Notably, Suryakumar is also set to feature for Mumbai in their Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT) 2025-26 matches on January 6 and 8 (as reported by The Times of India).
