Devin Booker is certainly a trade candidate.
The Phoenix Suns are starting a potentially massive rebuild in the face.
But they could also opt to try and keep their stars, Kevin Durant and/or Booker, and plug along in a tough Western Conference.
That at least seems to be what the Suns are trying to do with Booker. According to NBA insider Marc Stein, they've made Booker a contract extension offer.
Stein writes that the extension offer is for two years and $150 million.
The 28-year old Booker is in the second year of a four-year deal with Phoenix. That means the extension years would be for the 2028-29 season and the 2029-30 season.
Booker would be 33 years old when the extension years expired.

It's not yet clear if he'll take it. Signing the extension could make Booker even tougher to trade.
If he himself wants out of Phoenix, he probably should decline the deal and pressure for a trade.
But if Booker is content to spend his whole career in one place, even if the Suns look in a tough spot coming off an awful season, he could lock into the gigantic extension and stick around in Phoenix.
This would go down as the largest per year salary in NBA history with the $75 million AAV over the two years. Maybe Booker wants that kind of history. Basketball fans will have to wait and see.
