After the Golden State Warriors beat the Charlotte Hornets on New Year's Eve, Steph Curry shared that LaMelo Ball reached out to him privately. Ball had some questions regarding a major concern that Curry has first-hand knowledge of and could help him with.
Speaking to reporters after their 132-125 win, Curry was asked by The Charlotte Observer's Hunter Bailey if Ball had asked him about conquering his ankle injuries. Curry mentioned working with Quinton Sawyer, who was a former member of the Hornets' training staff.
"Yeah, he's reached out," Curry said. "We haven't been able to connect specifically on what he can do. But I know he's seen stuff that I've talked about, and actually, Q, who's not here anymore but was part of their training staff the last couple of years, was with us at Team USA last year. I think there's been a little bit of just conversational."•

Curry added that his brother, Seth Curry, who played with Ball last season, also connected them to guide the young star through his ankle problems.

"Seth was texting me last year, trying to give him some guidance," Curry said. "So hopefully, at some point, there'll be more hands-on experience or some things that I could offer."Before turning into one of the greatest players ever, Steph Curry was plagued by ankle issues early in his NBA career. It was so bad that the Golden State Warriors were able to sign him on a cheap extension after his rookie deal expired. He overcame his ankle problems in 2013 and had his breakout campaign at the age of 25.
At the end of his answer about LaMelo Ball, Curry dropped advice on what the Charlotte Hornets star can do, like getting stronger and building up his resiliency. He also needs to have a specific workout heading into the later stages of his career.

Curry discussed a bunch of topics, and one of them was overcoming his ankle problems early in his career.
Curry described those years as "dark days" because he wasn't even stepping on other players' feet to get injured. He was spraining his ankle while running in transition or just trying to shake off a defender while dribbling. He even called them "Bambi legs" because of how weak his ankles were back then.
