Steelers, Bills might have one less trade deadline option after ESPN's Titans rumor

We might be able to scratch one wide receiver off the list of those who could be available to the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Buffalo Bills at the trade deadline.

According to ESPN's Turron Davenport, the Titans are not shopping wide receiver Calvin Ridley ahead of the deadline despite getting calls on the veteran playmaker.

"The Titans are not shopping Calvin Ridley as some reports are saying. Confirmed with multiple team sources that is not the case. They have, however, received calls about Ridley and other players," Davenport reported.

This seems to suggest that Ridley won't be available at the deadline, although this may just be posturing on the Titans' part to try and get a better return from teams desperate to address their need at the position.

It would definitely make sense to trade Ridley, seeing as how the Titans are 1-8 and desperately need draft capital for their rebuild. However, Tennessee might be keen on holding on to Ridley because otherwise they would leave the wide receiver cupboard bare for rookie signal-caller Cam Ward.

If it is legit and the Titans don't want to trade Ridley, this is just the latest piece of bad news for wide receiver-needy teams like the Steelers and Bills, both of whom are rumored to be in the market for help.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the asking prices for wide receivers such as the Las Vegas Raiders' Jakobi Meyers, the New Orleans' Saints Rashid Shaheed and the Miami Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle are very high.

As for another popular projected trade candidate, Saints wideout Chris Olave, the expectation is he won't be available at the deadline.

Unless the asking prices come down for the aforementioned receivers, the Bills and Steelers might have to overpay or else they may come away with nothing at the trade deadline on Tuesday.
