The time appears close.
Multiple different reports over the past few days have indicated that Aaron Rodgers finally signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers is an imminent outcome.
The latest indication comes from Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio.
In a story published overnight Monday into Tuesday, Florio wrote, "We’re getting closer and closer to an answer as to Rodgers’s status. And all signs point to Rodgers becoming a Steeler."
Florio does caution that "nothing is done until it's done." That feels like it kind of sums up the last couple months with Rodgers.
The Steelers weren't the only contender from the outset, but they were one of the main teams in the picture from the time free agency opened.

They needed to replace Russell Wilson and Justin Fields, who both departed for the NFL's New York/New Jersey teams.
Rodgers had some courtship from the Giants and Vikings, but sooner rather than later, it was clear Pittsburgh was his only real landing spot.
There's always been the chance that Rodgers retires, but that seemed like something that would've happened already if it was going to happen.
Instead, a waiting game for everyone involved.
Finally, it seems the waiting could soon be over. Rodgers and the Steelers are reportedly going to get this deal over the finish line very soon.
