Swiss tennis legend Stan Wawrinka has started preparing for his final year in tennis. The Swiss has announced that he will call it quits, putting an end to a remarkable 24-year professional career, which included three Grand Slams and several other accomplishments.

His coach, Magnus Norman, offered a first glimpse into the training session of the veteran. As Wawrinka was heading out of the court following an intense training session, Norman captured that image and re-shared it on social media.

"3 time Grand Slam champ in the big 4 era. Davis Cup champ. Olympic champ. One final push together. One final year. Can’t wait to get started!" Norman tweeted.

Affectionately known as "Stanimal," the 40-year-old made a name for himself in the lore of the Big Three of Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. He won the 2014 Australian Open, 2015 French Open and 2016 US Open on top of 16 ATP singles titles, and a career-high ranking of No. 3 in the world. He also won the Olympic doubles gold alongside Roger Federer and helped Switzerland secure its first Davis Cup title in 2014.
