Sportskeeda's Choice: Most Disappointing WWE Wrestler of 2025

The WWE Universe was quite vocal about several of the company's booking decisions in 2025. Several stars have had underwhelming years in terms of booking and all-around performance.

At first glance, most people would pick The Rock as the most disappointing wrestler of the year. The former WWE Champion facilitated John Cena's heel turn and disappeared for the remainder of the year. However, he hasn't wrestled a match in 2025 and would be an odd pick owing to his part-time status.

Two WWE Superstars have unfortunately had a very disappointing 2025, one of whom is a top babyface while the other is a heel.

Jey Uso and Drew McIntyre make it to the top two for several reasons. However, Sportskeeda's choice for the most disappointing wrestler of the year is, unfortunately, Jey Uso.

Why are Jey Uso and Drew McIntyre among the most disappointing WWE wrestlers of the year?

Let's discuss Drew McIntyre first. The Scottish Warrior is actually one of the best heels in the business. He is incredible on the mic, has a very strong persona, and is incredible in the ring as well. However, the way he has been booked has been terrible to say the least.

McIntyre's X/Twitter activity is second to none, and he is among the funniest WWE Superstars on social media. However, it stops being funny once he is on the losing end of most of his major feuds. But that decision lies with the creative team and not with him. Despite the booking, McIntyre has managed to make the best of his situation and has still been very entertaining to watch.

The same cannot be said for Jey Uso, unfortunately. Main Event Jey received a massive push in the first half of the year, winning the Royal Rumble and going on to make Gunther tap out to his own finisher at WrestleMania 41 to win the World Heavyweight Championship.

However, he ended up dropping the title back to The Ring General just a few months later. While a short reign with the world title was perhaps expected for Uso, what is most disappointing about the situation is the fact that his persona and ring work did not change a bit.

Jey Uso's promo work has seldom been convincing, and he has also been noticeably sloppy in the ring on multiple occasions. Most recently, he was seen in several awkward spots during the world title match against CM Punk at Saturday Night's Main Event in November.

Despite being pushed to the moon, Uso is back in the tag team division and has not been as convincing in the main event. While he has enjoyed a ton of success this year, he has not managed to reach the heights that were expected. Therefore, Jey Uso gets the unfortunate spot as the most disappointing superstar of the year.
