The Dallas Cowboys' postseason hopes ended after their 34-17 loss against the Los Angeles Chargers at home on Sunday. Following the Cowboys' second consecutive season without playoff football, Dallas owner Jerry Jones discussed the team's defensive woes.

The Cowboys' defensive frailties have been under scrutiny all season, putting defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus's job under the microscope. However, Jones didn't blame the DC and said the execution was one of the "many things" contributing to the defensive woes.

“We are not executing. We are not getting done what we even run as a scheme. That’s very critical. It’s a combination of many things when you can’t get pressure or stop the run.”

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones dodges question about potential offseason signings

The Cowboys' Super Bowl drought stretched to three decades after Sunday's loss against the Chargers ended their slim playoff hopes for the season.

With their latest disappointment, the Cowboys owner has been urged by fans to make more additions to the roster in the coming offseason. However, Jones said he doesn't pay attention to outside noise.

"One year you can change the drought," Jones said. "And then you're the latest to have gone to the playoffs or gone to the Super Bowl. So, I don't pay any attention to 30 years this, 20 years that, when I know one good year will change it all and you'd be at the top of the list."

The Cowboys are also expected to make defensive additions to the roster after their disastrous defensive showing this season.
