Kevin Durant and Bruce Brown got into a heated verbal exchange during Saturday’s Houston Rockets-Denver Nuggets clash, with the situation further escalating after the game. Speaking to reporters afterward, Durant admitted that he felt the need to “cross the line” during the confrontation, a comment that caught the attention of Draymond Green.

Green, who is infamous for locking horns with opponents throughout his career, showed his support by reposting a clip of Durant’s interview on his Instagram Story.

“I definitely wanted to cross the line,” Durant said. “That’s basketball. That’s in between the lines. Ain’t no respect. Ain’t no love. Nothing. They (Nuggets) cross the line a lot with their physicality. Some people can talk and play.”

Brown later made it clear that he shared a similar mentality to Durant, suggesting he was ready for the situation to escalate and turn even more physical.

“As a man, there are certain things you don’t say to another man. I wish there was fighting (in basketball), I wish we didn’t get fined.”

The back-and-forth between Kevin Durant and Brown went on for most of the second half. The constant chatter also compelled other players such as Tim Hardaway Jr. and Reed Sheppard to be involved in the same.

Kevin Durant got the last laugh against Bruce Brown and the Nuggets

Kevin Durant led the way for the Houston Rockets in their 115-101 win over the Denver Nuggets on Dec. 20, finishing with 31 points, six rebounds, and five assists.

Durant’s scoring outburst, accompanied by Sheppard’s 28-point night, helped snap Denver’s two-game win streak against Houston. The win also pulled the Rockets closer in the regular-season series, cutting Denver’s lead to 2-1.

Bruce Brown exceeded expectations to keep Denver competitive and backed up his nonstop trash talk. Coming off the bench, he logged 28 minutes and posted his first double-double of the season with 12 points and 12 rebounds.

However, Brown’s energy was not enough to keep the Nuggets’ win streak alive, losing their first game in seven outings.
