"Embarrassing Dan Campbell 2-6 since taking over play calling duties. Back when the offense was rolling I like him, but this is a 'look in the mirror' issue Leaders own it, learn from it, correct it. But that window is closing quickly," another fan said.

The Lions offense struggled to find any kind of momentum against the Vikings in Week 17. Quarterback Jared Goff ended the night completing 18 of 29 passes for 197 yards and one touchdown that came in the second quarter. Jake Bates then converted a 48-yard field goal in the fourth quarter.

On the other hand, the Vikings, who were without quarterback J.J. McCarthy, scored three touchdowns against Campbell's team. This victory helped them improve to an 8-8 record with a four-game winning skid

The Lions are now dead last in the NFC North with an 8-8 record and a three-game losing skid.

Skip Bayless gets real on Dan Campbell's hot seat status after disappointing Week 17 loss to the Vikings

After the Lions were eliminated from playoff contention, Skip Bayless did not mince his words while criticizing the team's coach.

In a tweet he shared on X, he highlighted how the team's offense has regressed after Campbell took over play-calling duties. He had Ben Johnson as his offensive coordinator for the past three years before he left to take over as the coach of the Chicago Bears.

"The beginning of the end for the Detroit Lions came when Dan Campbell took over play-calling and they lost their identity with him as the tone-setting tough-guy commanding officer," Bayless tweeted.

The Lions are next scheduled to face the Chicago Bears in their last game of the season on Jan. 4.
