Shedeur Sanders makes powerful 5-word announcement to Browns

The Cleveland Browns haven't had much to cheer for over the past few seasons, and it looks like that won't change in 2025. However, the team selected a pair of promising quarterbacks, Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders, in the 2025 NFL draft, and the latter believes he's just what the franchise needs.

Sanders fall down the board in the 2025 draft was highly publicized, as he went from being an expected first-round selection to falling all the way until the fifth round. The Browns finally decided to select him after they pulled off a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles to move up to the No. 144 selection.

While Sanders didn't necessarily get drafted as high as he was expecting to, he landed in a decent spot with the Browns, as he could conceivably compete for their starting job right off the bat, as their presumed starter, Deshaun Watson, could miss the entire 2025 campaign after he re-ruptured his Achilles back in January.

The other quarterbacks on the roster are Gabriel, 40-year veteran Joe Flacco, and former first-round pick Kenny Pickett. None of them exactly inspire confidence, which means the door is wide open. Sanders knows he's a divisive quarterback, but he believes that he is the answer for Cleveland under center.

"I'm here to change that," Sanders said when speaking about the Browns' recent woes.

Sanders threw for 4,134 yards and 37 touchdowns in 2024 while playing for his father, Deion Sanders, on the Colorado Buffaloes. He departed Colorado with the highest completion percentage (71.8%) of any qualified FBS-I quarterback in college football history. Now, he will look to make a name for himself after falling all the way to the Browns in the 2025 draft.
