Not many teams will enter the 2025 season with more hype than the Bears.

Chicago had a strong offseason, headlined by bringing in former Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson as their new head coach. Johnson is one of the NFL's brightest offensive minds and will look to work with 2024 No. 1 pick Caleb Williams to form a dynamic duo.

However, for the Bears to make that breakout, they will have to get through a gauntlet. Chicago is in the NFC North, one of the toughest divisions in the NFL after seeing the Packers, Lions, and Vikings all make the playoffs last year.

Additionally, Chicago has some tough non-conference games on its schedule, including a road matchup against the defending-champion Eagles. Johnson and Williams will surely be tested in their first year together against some of the league's best teams.

Bears strength of schedule

Despite going 7-10 last year, Chicago faced an easier schedule than most of the league, but it was weighted by the tough NFC North. The Bears ended last season with a 1-5 record in their division and a 6-5 record against the rest of the league.

If the Bears want to take the next step, they will have to do it through one of the NFL's toughest schedules. Chicago's 2025 schedule is tied with the Lions for the second-toughest by 2024 winning percentage, as their opponents had a .571 winning percentage in 2024.

Toughest tests: Besides in their own division, the Bears' toughest games will be on the road against the Eagles, Commanders, and Ravens, three teams that went a combined 38-13 last season. Facing a resurgent 49ers' team on the road will also be a tough task.

Biggest breaks: While Chicago won't have many soft spots in the schedule, it will host the Giants and Browns in 2025, as those two squads each produced 3-14 records last year. It also helps to get indoor teams Dallas and New Orleans at home.
