"Shedeur Sanders is a grifter’s paradise": Ryan Clark calls out unnecessary media trial of Coach Prime's son as Browns QB finds footing in Cleveland

Cleveland Browns rookie Shedeur Sanders has been under the magnifying glass since his draft slide saw him get picked in the fifth round by the AFC North franchise.

Although the former Colorado Buffaloes star has been promoted to the starting role over the last few weeks, Sanders' critics have continued to bash the rookie quarterback.

Former NFL safety turned analyst Ryan Clark came to Sanders' defense in a post on X, calling out people for "unnecessary criticism."

“Shedeur Sanders is a grifter’s paradise… the most logical person has actually been him” There’s a group of ignorant people that want to see Shedeur fail. People cover sport only say negative things to excite that base while riling up his supporters. Who being honest, only want to hear, “Shedeur’s great”.

"Is it ok to just tell the truth? His character’s been attacked unnecessarily. No young man is perfect, but he’s certainly nearly what some try to make him. He isn’t a finished product. So, can we please be logical about what’s happening? Thank God Shedeur is. He’s the most adult person in the room."

Since being promoted to the starting role, Sanders has thrown six interceptions, completing 52.2% of his passes.

Browns rookie Shedeur Sanders acknowledges "challenges" of rookie season

Although it has not been an easy ride for Sheduer Sanders as the Browns' starting quarterback, the rookie signal-caller acknowledged that it is necessary to build his foundation.

"I get excited knowing I'm able to face those challenges, because you got to understand, this year right here, it's the worst it's going to be," Sanders said. "This (is) the foundation. This is where I'm building from. This is where I'm understanding different things. "This is where everything's translating for me. So I'm excited about it. You know, I'm extremely excited about it, because I know. I know we're going to get them. I know we're going to get them eventually."

Sanders has registered 946 passing yards, five passing touchdowns, six interceptions, 74 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown so and wants to finish the season on a high.
