The San Jose Sharks have agreed to a contract extension for left winger Kiefer Sherwood.
Sharks GM Mike Grier inked Sherwood to a five-year extension at $28.75 million, and an average annual value of $5.57 million against the salary cap.
His contract will officially kick in at the start of the 2026-27 season. Sherwood currently has a $1.5-million salary cap hit in the second year of a two-year deal.
As it stands, Sherwood will be the fourth-highest-paid active player on the team, and the third-highest forward.
“We are very excited to have Kiefer remain in San Jose and be part of the group that we are building,” said Grier. “The ingredients he brings to our line-up on a nightly basis blend extremely well with the skillsets of his teammates and we look forward to his contributions in the years to come.”
