Serbia and Latvia bring their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign to an end when they square off at the Dubocica Stadium on Sunday. Latvia, who have failed to win their last eight matches across all competitions, will be out to end this dry spell and close out their qualifying journey on a high.

Serbia’s World Cup qualifying dreams were dashed on Thursday as they fell to a 2-0 defeat against England when the two nations squared off at Wembley Stadium.

This followed a 3-1 victory over Andorra on October 14, a result which saw Veljko Paunovic’s side’s run of two consecutive defeats in the qualifiers come to an end.

Serbia head into the final Group K game in third place with 10 points from their seven matches, four points behind Albania in the playoff spot.

Meanwhile, Latvia continue to struggle for results as they played out a goalless draw with North Macedonia in their friendly clash last Thursday.

Paolo Nicolato’s men now turn their focus to the World Cup qualifiers, where they are on a run of five consecutive games without a win (2D 4L) since a 1-0 victory over Andorra in March’s group opener.

Latvia have picked up five points from their seven qualifying matches so far to sit fourth in the Group K table, only above rock-bottom Andorra, who have managed just one point so far.

Serbia vs Latvia Head-To-Head and Key Numbers

  • This will be just the second-ever meeting between Serbia and Latvia, with Paunovic’s men picking up a 1-0 victory when they squared off in September’s reverse fixture.
  • Latvia have won just one of their last 11 competitive matches, while losing seven and claiming three draws since October 2024.
  • Serbia are unbeaten in seven of their last nine competitive home games, picking up four wins and three draws since October 2023.
  • Latvia have failed to win 10 of their last 11 competitive away matches, losing eight and claiming two draws since June 2022.

Serbia vs Latvia Prediction

With their hopes of qualification already over, Serbia and Latvia will be playing for pride here as they look to close out the campaign on a strong note.

Paunovic’s men are still licking their wounds from their gut-wrenching defeat against England in midweek, but we are backing them to secure all three points in front of their home supporters.

Prediction: Serbia 2-0 Latvia
