The visiting Michigan Wolverines fans were met with a surprise as their hosts, the Northwestern Wildcats, played their favorite tune ‘Mr. Brightside’. Just as the Wolverines fans were getting into the groove, the tune cut to the troll music classic ‘Rick Astley’s ‘Never Gonna Give You Up.’ The Michigan fans in attendance were visibly stunned during the impromptu segment.

Here's the video:

The Michigan Wolverines entered halftime with the slimmest of leads over their 5-4 rivals. The game was a cagey affair as both sides' defenses have been on point.

The Wolverines have playoff aspirations, while the Wildcats are looking to secure bowl game eligibility as soon as possible. So, it's not a surprise that the big screen controllers looked to get a slight advantage while the players took a breather.

Michigan freshman Andrew Marsh soaring in 2025

One positive in the first half was Michigan rookie Andrew Marsh matching a record that's been in existence since 2009. According to Sports Illustrated, the pacey wide receiver became the first Michigan true freshman to have multiple 100-yard games in the same season since Roy Roundtree did so back in 2009.

The report reads that Roundtree had two 100-yard games in the 2009 campaign. He racked up 126 yards against Purdue and 116 yards versus archrivals, the Ohio State Buckeyes. As for Marsh, he racked up 138 yards against the USC Trojans, and he amassed well over the 100-yard mark in the first half of the Northwestern showdown.

Andrew Marsh is building a fruitful partnership with fellow freshman Bryce Underwood. The duo looks to be locked in for the future, and they could usher in a new era for the Wolverines.

The Wolverines beat out Texas, USC, Washington and more for Marsh's commitment. It looks like a masterful move just a couple of games into his Wolverines career. He's beaten out Semaj Morgan, Channing Goodwin and more to become Underwood's de facto target.
