The NBA All-Star Voting started on Dec. 17, and the Golden State Warriors have encouraged fans to vote for Jimmy Butler. The star forward has appeared in 25 games in the 2025-26 season, averaging 19.8 points, 5.6 rebounds and 4.8 assists. Butler hasn't been a big-time scorer in his career, but it has led him to be selected in six All-Star games.

This year, the Warriors believe that he deserves to be voted by the fans. He's arguably the second option to Steph Curry. On Instagram, the team posted a video campaigning for Butler's case.

However, Butler went against his own campaign. In the comments section, he asked fans to stop voting for him. He asked fans to create a GoFundMe for the six-time All-Star to get him to Barbados, instead.

"don’t vote for me guys. instead somebody create a gofundme to send me to Barbados. ❤️❤️❤️. Thanks in advance. GO WARRIORS," Butler said.

During the All-Star Weekend, players get a chance to take a break from the long season. Stars often take quick vacations before resuming the second half of the season.

Butler hasn't been part of the league's traditions since the 2021-22 season. Since then, he's had more time to himself and his family during the break.

Gilbert Arenas has a strong opinion of how Jimmy Butler is "hurting" the Warriors' offense

Despite being a star, Jimmy Butler is still prone to having terrible nights on the floor. There was a stretch of games where Butler did not score a lot for the Warriors. His passiveness on offense isn't anything new. Even when he was with the Chicago Bulls, Minnesota Timberwolves, Philadelphia 76ers and Miami Heat, the star would be criticized for not shooting enough.

From Dec. 7 to Dec. 14, the star forward has held himself back, only shooting 11 shots. During that trend, former NBA star Gilbert Arenas shared his strong opinion of the star forward.

“Jimmy, if you’re going to play like that, I will bring you off the bench,” said Arenas. “You’re not a bench guy, but how you’re playing this game, on this team, this is not Miami. I don’t have a Herro and a Bam. You have to be one of those.” “You have to be Klay. You have to be KD. You have to be Jimmy in the playoffs. You can’t be Draymond Green because if you got two Draymonds out there, who you passing to? Post? What Post gon’ do?”

In the past two games, he's been more aggressive on offense. Jimmy Butler is averaging 28.0 ppg, 2.0 rpb and 2.5 apg during that two-game stretch.
