Drawing on his 'extensive knowledge' of flying a Citation aircraft, Mark Martin shared that it's 'disturbing' to learn about Greg Biffle's plane crash. Notably, Martin has prior experience dealing with his father's demise in an aviation disaster.

Chilling details from Biffle's fatal accident have emerged lately. The National Transportation Safety Board held a press conference the day after the incident and revealed that the plane struck multiple trees, runway lights, and the airport fence upon arrival.

NTSB recently released images from the crash site, showing a debris field that apparently stretched to 1800 feet from the approach end of the runway. The board members also suggested that they're fairly certain of the left-seat occupant of the cockpit, but weren't willing to divulge further details until a final report is prepared, which is expected to come out in 12-18 months.

Reflecting upon the latest findings, Martin shared an X post, writing,

"As a Citation pilot for 20 years and a product of around 75 days of @FlightSafetyInt training and over 3000 hours of flight time in the aircraft I have deep knowledge of these aircraft and performance. The more I learn about Biffle’s crash the more disturbing it is to me."

Witness reports recall a terrifying account of the plane 'screaming' over the skies. Sadly, six other passengers died alongside Greg Biffle, including his family of four, two commercial pilots, and a NASCAR motorhome driver.

Cleetus MacFarland shares a poignant tribute to Greg Biffle

Youtuber and part-time ARCA racer Cleetus MacFarland was one of the first to confirm Greg Biffle's tragic loss. Biffle and his family were originally headed to MacFarland's home in Florida to spend time with him.

While Biffle helped the YouTuber get into ARCA racing, MacFarland helped raise funds for Hurricane Helene by going head-to-head against Biffle in a charity race. That said, MacFarland uploaded a YouTube video of his best memories with Biffle and paid tribute to his family.

He shared the 41-minute documentary on X and attached the following caption:

"The last year and a half with him has been some of the greatest moments of my life. I am lucky to have had him as a mentor, and a close friend. I've never met someone I had so much in common with. His wife Cristina was an absolute pleasure to be around and an amazing mother. ... It's an absolute tragedy we had to lose the Biffle's like this."

Fans reacted to the post and praised Cleetus MacFarland for honouring Greg Biffle 'the right way.' The video went over Biffle's contribution during Hurricane Helene, when he used his personal helicopter to deliver emergency supplies, including food, fuel, and medicine. It also covered Biffle's maiden Daytona 500 win, which came in his 23rd Cup Series race.
