Seahawks' Sam Darnold joins Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, in 13-win NFL history

The Seattle Seahawks have had an incredible 2025 NFL season so far, and their win over the Carolina Panthers puts them on the doorstep of a first-round bye and an NFC West title.

This wouldn't be the case if it weren't for Sam Darnold. Seattle going from Geno Smith to Darnold was one of the best moves of the offseason, despite many believing to the contrary at the time.

Darnold has been one of the winningest QBs in the NFL lately, and a statistic from the NFL on CBS proves it. Darnold, with the Seahawks' 13th win in 2025, has joined the likes of some NFL legends in league history for 13-win seasons.

The only quarterbacks in NFL history with back-to-back 13-win seasons are Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Peyton Manning, and Brett Favre. That was, until Darnold won his 13th game in Week 17 over the Panthers, as he joins that elite company.

Only five quarterbacks have achieved back-to-back 13-win seasons, and Favre, Rodgers, Manning, and Brady are all Hall of Famers. Darnold is joining that group, and impressively, he did so with two different teams.

His 2024 season with the Minnesota Vikings ended poorly, but his play last season was what sparked Seattle to take a chance on him in 2025. It's worked great, as Darnold has been one of the best quarterbacks this season.

While he might not have the same MVP case that those quarterbacks have had in their NFL careers, Darnold's produciton, 3,850 passing yards, 25 touchdowns, and 13 wins is more than enough to justify the $100 million contract.

His 14 interceptions are a bit much, but he's a gunslinger and isn't afraid of putting the ball in harm's way, something the Seahawks can get away with thanks to their stellar defense.

Darnold is having a great 2025 season, proving his 2024 wasn't a fluke. And now, with his 13th win in back-to-back seasons, he joins some incredible names in exclusive NFL history.
