Santos Escobar is a member of Legado Del Fantasma. He made his main roster debut in 2022 and has been featured on SmackDown. However, Escobar hasn't been seen on television since the June 7 edition of Worlds Collide, where Legado defeated El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr., Pagano, and Psycho Clown. However, he competed on two house shows in Mexico following the event.
It now appears that the 41-year-old might finally return to WWE TV, but this time with a group. In a shocking twist, he and Tony D'Angelo could come back together, possibly adding Los Garza (Angel and Berto) to form his new mafia faction.
Earlier this month, Santos Escobar's contract with the Stamford-based promotion expired, and he seemingly left the company. According to a report from the Wrestling Observer Radio, Escobar was initially headed to AEW before things took a turn, and he re-signed with WWE.
The Mexican star was rumored to make his return on the latest episode of WWE RAW, but that didn’t happen. However, he might now finally make his comeback alongside D'Angelo. The duo shares a storied history in NXT, where Legado Del Fantasma once worked with The D'Angelo Family.

In an effort to free Legado from The D'Angelo family, Escober reached an agreement with Tony for a Street Fight at NXT Heatwave 2022. If Escobar won, Legado Del Fantasma would have gained freedom, but if he lost, he would have been banned from NXT. Unfortunately for the Mexican star, he lost to the 30-year-old and was banned from WWE's developmental brand.
Tony D'Angelo has not appeared on the Stamford-based promotion's programming for a while now. He was last seen in a pre-taped segment on the July 29 episode of NXT, where he seemingly retired his "Don" persona and was confronted by a mystery figure.
That said, D'Angelo might reunite with his archrival, Santos Escobar, and return to the company together. Angel and Berto could also benefit from working with the veterans as part of a villainous group.
If this happens, it could make the group appear more threatening. Escobar might finally seek to secure a title on the main roster. However, this angle is speculative.
Santos Escobar could be the one to finally dethrone Dominik Mysterio
If the abovementioned scenario plays out, Santos Escobar might look to secure his first title on the main roster. He could challenge Dominik Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship on RAW.
Escobar's potential mafia faction could neutralize the threat posed by El Grande American and his allies. The former Cruiserweight Champion could go on to dethrone "Dirty" Dom and establish himself as a prominent name on the red brand. While it sounds promising, this angle is also speculative.
