Saints outduel Chiefs, Broncos for $52 million star RB

The New Orleans Saints made a previously reported free agency deal official on Friday.

The 2010 Super Bowl champions will enter the 2026-27 NFL season with a former Jacksonville Jaguars star running back.

"Travis Etienne Jr. is home,” the Saints stated on X/Twitter.

According to WWL Radio’s Jeff Nowak, the Saints outdueled the Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos for Etienne’s services this offseason.

“Travis Etienne told me the Chiefs and Broncos were two teams showing interest in free agency, but once the Saints entered the picture, the decision became fairly simple,” Novak wrote on X/Twitter.

Etienne’s next-level burst, vision, and underrated catch-making ability made him a force to be reckoned with in Jacksonville.

In four seasons with the Jaguars, Etienne recorded 5,136 total scrimmage yards and 32 total touchdowns, cementing himself as a well-rounded running back who has the tools to be successful in the NFL for a lengthy period.

More importantly, Etienne proved that his play could contribute to winning in Jacksonville, as the Jaguars reached the postseason twice during his four-year tenure (they defeated the Los Angeles Chargers in the 2022 AFC Wild Card Round before losing to the Kansas City Chiefs, and suffered a heartbreaking loss to the Buffalo Bills in the 2025 AFC Wild Card Round).

Simply put, the Saints and their fan base should be excited about Etienne’s arrival in New Orleans.
