Saints' Alvin Kamara receives injury designation after being listed as questionable

The New Orleans Saints aren't having an ideal first season under head coach Kellen Moore. Sitting at 1-7, they are tied with the New York Jets for the worst record in the entire league.

New Orleans' offense will be looking a lot different on the offensive side of the ball in Week 9 against the Los Angeles Rams. The team announced that rookie second-round pick Tyler Shough will be leading the offense for the rest of the season.

The start of the first-year quarterback's starting career didn't start very promisingly. Saints running back Alvin Kamara was listed as questionable early in the week as he continues to deal with an ankle injury.

Jay Glazer: Alvin Kamara will play in Week 9 against Rams

NFL insider Jay Glazer gave updates to multiple players throughout the league ahead of Sunday's slate, and Saints running back Alvin Kamara will be active for Week 9.

The veteran running back has been dealing with the same ankle injury for a couple of weeks, but it hasn't stopped him from playing in every game this season.

Kamara, 30, is the glue of the Saints' offense since entering the league in 2017. His 2025 season hasn't been as successful as prior years. Through eight games played, he has 363 rushing yards, 31 receptions, 147 receiving yards, and one total touchdown.

New Orleans will look to snap its three-game losing streak and give quarterback Tyler Shough a positive start to his NFL career.
