Sabres legend Ryan Miller hints at Philip Rivers-level comeback from retirement

The Buffalo Sabres' legendary goaltender, Ryan Miller, dropped a fun idea on social media this week.

Miller has been watching what Philip Rivers has done, coming back to play QB for the NFL's Indianapolis Colts at age 44 after five years retired.

Miller said hey, why not me?

Miller is 45 years old.

He entered the NHL as a fifth-round pick by Buffalo in 1999 out of Michigan State.

He spent 11 of his 18 NHL seasons with Buffalo.

With the Sabres, Miller had 284 wins. In his total career, it was 391 NHL wins for Miller.

He had a career save percentage of 91.4 and a goals against average of 2.64.

After Buffalo, he played for the Blues, the Canucks and the Ducks.

His last season was 2020-21 with Anaheim, when he played in 16 games.

Teams could always use another solid goalie. It's not clear that Miller actually wants to come back, but if he did, hockey fans would gladly welcome him.
