A former AEW champion has left fans in a frenzy after dropping a major hint regarding his immediate future in wrestling.

That star is Kenny Omega, a former AEW World Champion and, more recently, International Champion, regarded as an original in the Jacksonville-based promotion. Despite his legendary status in the company, Omega's TV time has dropped considerably as the Cleaner is on a more relaxed schedule to balance professional responsibilities while dealing with his recurring health issues. That said, the Best Bout Machine was spotted backstage on Dynamite last night, joined by his Elite stablemates, Matt and Nick Jackson, a.k.a. the Young Bucks.

Backstage, The Elite was being interviewed by Lexy Nair, during which the Bucks revealed they are not medically cleared to wrestle after their trios match at Dynamite last week. Omega then chimed in, saying it was fun to get back together, but while the Bucks take time to heal, there is something he wants to take care of himself.

Omega's comments riled up fans online, who took to X to share their speculation about what comes next for the Cleaner. One fan even suggested that Omega could appear at WWE Royal Rumble 2026.

"Royal Rumble finally," one fan wrote.

AEW reportedly reunited the Elite to reduce Kenny Omega's match load

Full Gear 2025 saw the reunion of one of the most iconic stables in AEW history, the Elite. The group, originally made up of Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks, used to run the Jacksonville-based promotion, especially in the early 2020s. However, the group broke up in 2024 when Kazuchika Okada and the Bucks fired the Cleaner from the Elite. A recent report shed light on why this reunion has happened.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the Elite was brought back to avoid putting Omega in long singles matches. The decision makes sense from a medical standpoint, as the Best Bout Machine continues to battle recurring health issues. That said, Omega is still allowed to compete in Trios action, keeping him an active face on All Elite Wrestling programming.
