A sea of fans were left disappointed who turned up yet again to watch Rohit Sharma play at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Friday, December 26. Although the right-handed batter played his trademark pull shot, he holed out to the fielder at deep fine leg.

The former India captain mesmerized the crowd in Mumbai's Vijay Hazare Trophy opener, smashing 155 off 94 deliveries against Sikkim at the same ground. Today, they were silenced after he took strike against Devendra Singh Bora. Although the veteran opened his account with the same shot in the opening game, it cost him in the match against Uttarakhand. Jagmohan Nagarkoti juggled once before completing the catch.

Here's the video of the dismissal:

Mumbai, who have won the Vijay Hazare Trophy four times, opened their campaign with a commanding eight-wicket victory over Sikkim. The 38-year-old spearheaded the chase of 237 with 155 as the 141-run opening stand with Angkrish Raghuvanshi set things up for their side. At the time of publishing, Mumbai were 133 for 3 after 21 overs.

Rohit Sharma's innings of 155 was the ninth instance that he had crossed 150 in List A cricket, equalling former Australia opener David Warner's record. He has been in outstanding form in the last two months, beginning from the Australia tour in October. The Nagpur-born cricketer won the Player of the Series Down Under, aggregating 202 runs in three innings, headlined by a century in the final ODI in Sydney.

He started the home series against South Africa as the No.1 ranked ODI batter and will finish the year at the top. The legendary batter's next outing for the national team is set to be in the ODI series against New Zealand, beginning on January 11 in Vadodara.
