The Boston Red Sox, coming into July, looked like a certified seller for the upcoming August 3 MLB trade deadline. But the narrative seems to have changed.

Leading up to the MLB All-Star break in the middle of July, the Red Sox, on a nine-game road trip, won all nine games to climb right back into the postseason hunt.

That hot stretch has changed the team's trade deadline outlook. As Jesse Rogers of ESPN noted, Sonny Gray and Aroldis Chapman have gone from clear trade chips to a duo more likely to stick in Boston thanks to this hot streak.

Red Sox winning streak has changed trade odds for Sonny Gray, Aroldis Chapman

"About 10 days ago, I would have said Aroldis Chapman and/or Sonny Gray, but that calculus has changed for the moment," Rogers writes.

That answer from Rogers came after being asked about who the biggest name traded at the deadline would be, other than Tarik Skubal.

Before the Red Sox went on their winning streak, Gray or Chapman might've been the biggest player on the move. But now, it might not be any Red Sox player headed elsewhere.

Instead, the Red Sox might be trade deadline buyers, looking to improve their infield. This represents a significant shift from just a few weeks ago. And it's a very exciting one, as the Red Sox might be postseason contenders now.

Coming into July, the Red Sox seemed like clear sellers, with Chapman, Gray, and many others expected to draw interest. But now, none of those players might be on the move.

The odds for Gray and Chapman to be dealt has decreases sharply, though there is stil la chance they're dealt if the Red Sox collapse over these next few weeks.

But, for now, the Red Sox have climbed back into the race enough that they're no longer viewed as sellers, all thanks to a nine-game winning streak that has taken place in the last couple of weeks.
