The New York Mets are one of the most obvious sellers with a few weeks to go before the trade deadline.
New York's roster has talent, but that hasn't translated into wins in the standings.
Injuries are also a factor in their struggles. The Mets lost one of their top starting pitchers to the IL in May.
Right-hander Clay Holmes had a comebacker nail his leg and fracture his fibula, keeping him out for months.
Holmes could be a superb trade chip for the Mets, but his return from injury is still up in the air.
"Clay Holmes will probably decline his $12 million player option for next season to capitalize on his successful conversion from reliever to starter over the past two seasons. The Mets could deal him," ESPN's Jorge Castillo wrote. "They also could keep him, make him a qualifying offer and receive a draft pick after the fourth round next year if he signs elsewhere."

Of course, Holmes' health plays a big factor in his trade value. The two-time All-Star posted a 2.39 ERA in nine starts before the injury.
"Complicating the situation is that Holmes might not return from his broken fibula until after the trade deadline, but that shouldn't dampen interest," Castillo wrote.
How much longer will Holmes be sidelined?
According to SNY's Phillip Martinez, Mets interim manager Andy Green recently said that Holmes is "inching closer" to a rehab assignment.
