LeBron James gives his most detailed free agency answer yet to young fan

LeBron James and Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton appeared together on the Mind the Game podcast in New York City on Thursday, and the talk was all about James' free agency status.

No matter how much these guys tried to move the conversation away from James' next landing spot, the elephant in the room was wide open.

During the show, which had Haliburton filling in as a guest co-host in place of Steve Nash, James was even asked by a young fan about his free agency status.

The young fan asked about what goes into his choice on his next landing spot and how he wants to improve that team. Smart question.

LeBron praised the young boy for the question and said, "Some of the media people here should probably learn from a young fella," James said to the audience, in a video from the event posted on X by ESPN's Dave McMenamin.

Then, he got candid and really gave his most detailed response to a question about free agency yet.

"Obviously, it's a big decision. This is the third time in my career that I've been a free agent," he said during the appearance. "It's a big decision for not only myself, but also my family, as well."

Then, he added, "Wherever I go, I will make my staple. I'm a natural-born leader. I'm gonna try to fit in with whatever team I'm going into but also give them all the tools and give them all the knowledge that I've been able to grasp over the last 23 years."

Finally, James said to the fan that wherever he goes, "I hope that you can continue to support me and that I inspire you."

So, James didn't announce his new team on Thursday. But, thanks to that young man's great question, we have more insight into his thinking on the matter.
