Ravens linked to trade for Jaguars Pro Bowler amid pair of WR injury issues

The Baltimore Ravens are dealing with a bit of a problem after their Week 1 blowout victory over the Indianapolis Colts. Ja'Kobi Lane has landed on injured reserve, and Zay Flowers is also banged up.

With little trust in Rashod Bateman, or any of the other wide receivers on the roster, it would not be a surprise if the Ravens went out and traded for some help. Considering this is a contending year, why not shoot for the stars?

Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox recently linked the Ravens to a Pro Bowl receiver in Jacksonville Jaguars star Brian Thomas Jr. He'd be an intriguing trade option, but beyond the expensive cost, a lot is standing between the Ravens and Thomas this year.

"The Jags have dismissed the trade buzz surrounding wideout Brian Thomas Jr. However, it's fair to wonder how tightly they'll hang onto him," Knox writes. "... Potential suitors: Baltimore Ravens, New England Patriots."

Jacksonville probably won't trade Thomas, but with Jakobi Meyers signing a big extension last year, and Parker Washington poised for a major breakout season, there is a scenario where Thomas becomes a trade piece.

It'd take a fortune to pry the former first-rounder off the Jaguars' hands. Knox is projecting the value to be a "conditional 2nd-round draft pick," which likely would rise to a first-rounder if the Ravens get a lot out of Thomas following a trade.

Of course, such a deal is not very likely, as Thomas is under control for the next three seasons, and the Jaguars believe themselves to be contenders this season.

Still, the Ravens surely would have interest, as Lane is hurt, Flowers is not 100% already, and the rest of the WR room is quite barren. Thomas, the Pro Bowl WR who had 1,282 yards in his rookie season with 10 touchdowns, would be an incredible pickup.

While his 707-yard, two-TD 2025 season was a letdown, there should be a bit more optimism for Thomas this season. He's a talented player, and if he joined the Ravens, he could give Lamar Jackson a true X receiver who'd complement Flowers really well.

There would be a lot to like about this fit, but the issue is that it's incredibly unlikely. While adding Thomas alongside Flowers and Lane would be fun, in reality, it's not going to happen.
