Ravens fans will love Declan Doyle's offseason expectations

1 hour ago 3

Times are changing for the Baltimore Ravens, with Jesse Minter now taking over from John Harbaugh as head coach.

But Todd Monken is also out, with Declan Doyle now the new voice in Lamar Jackson's ear.

It has been an offseason for change for the Ravens, and we don't expect it to stop anytime soon as Minter looks to hit the ground running for the offseason program.

And as for Doyle? Well, he didn't hold back when asked about who he expects to be at the facility when the offseason begins.

"We would expect them to be here and certainly it is voluntary," Doyle said via ESPN. "But also, if you want to say that you're going to win a championship, you want to say that you have championship standards and those are your goals and your expectations, certainly that's going to take work. That's going to take collaboration, that's going to take the beginning of building the relationship with their coaches [and] other players, starting off this next regime on the right foot."

Will Doyle's hardline stance be well-received?

First off, he's not wrong.

Yes, the early portion of the offseason is voluntary, but with a new coordinator, surely players will cut short their holidays and look to get back to work as soon as they can, right?

Doyle's mindset is superb, and it is exactly what the Ravens need.

It will be interesting to see whether his quarterback is among those present for the early part of the offseason program, since he is the franchise leader. If Lamar is there, then we know Doyle's words have gotten through.

First impressions count a lot, and Doyle's was rather impressive.
