Over the last few years, WWE Chief Content Officer, Triple H, has been tasked with the job of making booking decisions that are intended to benefit the Stamford-based promotion.
While some of the booking decisions made by his creative team have been unexpected and exciting, some have turned out to be underwhelming as well.
In this article, we rank the four worst WWE booking decisions of 2025:
Spoiler on Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes - Check Here!
#4. Jey Uso winning the Men's Royal Rumble Match
Jey Uso achieved notable success in his career after embracing a singles run. This led to the company booking him to win this year's Men's Royal Rumble Match by having him eliminate John Cena at the death.
While this decision seemingly excited sections of the WWE Universe, many believe that the feud between The YEET Master and Gunther didn't live up to fan expectations. This resulted in Uso not main-eventing WrestleMania 41, despite winning the coveted Royal Rumble.
#3. Jey Uso winning the World Title at Gunther's expense
Although the feud between Gunther and Jey Uso seemingly didn't generate the required amount of hype leading up to WrestleMania 41, booking The YEET Master to win the World Heavyweight Championship by tapping out The Ring General felt questionable.
It might have been better if the creative team had Jey Uso pin Gunther instead of forcing him to submit. Arguably, this approach could have also helped protect The Ring General and felt bizarre.
#2. Brock Lesnar squashing John Cena at WWE Wrestlepalooza
John Cena ran it back with Brock Lesnar a final time during his Farewell Tour. He was involved in a program with Lesnar, which set up the stage for a clash at Wrestlepalooza. However, The Beast Incarnate squashed the GOAT in under nine minutes, leaving fans disappointed and shocked.
It has justifiably been argued by fans that even if Lesnar was booked to defeat Cena, their last-ever bout against each other did not need to be as one-sided as it was. It seemingly diminished The Franchise Player's momentum, ruining his Farewell Tour.
#1. Travis Scott in the main event of WrestleMania 41
During the Undisputed WWE Championship match between Cody Rhodes and John Cena at WrestleMania 41, Travis Scott came out to cause a major interference in the high-takes bout. He helped John Cena steal the victory over Rhodes to become a record 17-time World Champion.
However, many believe that the musician had no place in this main event. They argue that the match would have proceeded smoothly without his interference, with it possibly being the worst booking decision of 2025.
