Rams agree to trade with Chiefs for All-Pro CB involving 1st round pick

The Los Angeles Rams entered the offseason with a major need at cornerback. It was a massive issue in the NFC Championship game, and was something that couldn't go without addressing this offseason.

While the offseason has yet to officially get underway, the Rams have already begun to make their moves. A few days after the NFL Scouting Combine, the Rams have a trade.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Rams are deep in trade talks with the Kansas City Chiefs for All-Pro cornerback Trent McDuffie.

"Sources: The Chiefs are deep in talks on a trade of star CB Trent McDuffie to the Rams for pick No. 29 and additional comp," Rapoport reports.

This is a massive deal for the Rams, as McDuffie was the best available cornerback this offseason, whether it be a trade, free agency, or the draft.

And while this deal isn't official yet, as the new league year needs to begin, once that date, March 11th, comes around, the Rams will have their new superstar cornerback.

The full trade for McDuffie, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, is a big one. The Rams are sending pick No. 29 in the 2026 NFL Draft, and also a fifth and sixth-round pick in this year's draft, along with a 2027 third-round pick for McDuffie.

There has been some buzz around such a trade, but with this deal being widely reported, it looks like the Rams have begun to resolve their major question marks at the cornerback position.

But what makes this such a great trade for the Rams is that they will still have a first-round pick at No. 13 overall thanks to their trade last year with the Atlanta Falcons.

While this is a lot to give up in a deal, McDuffie, the All-Pro cornerback who is 25 years old and a two-time Super Bowl champion, is a fantastic addition for the Rams.
